Normalizing flow prior of low-extinction stars at high Galactic latitudes
Myself, Gerry Gilmore and Kaisey Mandel are developing a method to learn the colour-magnitude diagram of low-extinction stars at high Galactic latitudes using normalzing flows.
Convergence of NUTS algorithm with Normalizing Flow target densities
I have developed normalizing architectures and shown that under certain assumptions the No U-turn Sampler will converge to the target density if it constains a normalizing flow component in the Hamiltonian. In the GIF below I show the leap-frog integration for a Hamiltonian with normalizing flow component.

Quantifying interstellar extinction at high Galactic latitudes
Published in MNRAS, 2024
A detailed map of the distribution of dust at high Galactic latitudes is essential for future cosmic microwave background polarization experiments because the dust, while diffuse, remains a significant foreground in these regions. We develop a Bayesian model to identify a region of the Hertzsprung–Russell (HR) diagram suited to constrain the single-star extinction accurately at high Galactic latitudes.
